About Huw Price
Huw Price, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Grid-Tools
Voted "IT Director of the Year 2010" by QA Guild, Huw Price has nearly a 30 year career. He has been the lead technical architect for several US and European software companies. Specializing in test automation tools he has launched numerous innovative products which have re-cast the testing model used in the software industry.
Huw has provided high-level architecture design support to multinational banks, major utility vendors and health care providers. A strong believer in balancing pragmatism with a visionary approach, he has been able to rapidly bring new products to market while maintaining strong quality control.
Huw writes numerous white papers and publications on test data management topics, some of which have been published in magazines such as The European Software Tester and Test Experience. He is an adviser to Kings College KCL in the United Kingdom and has lead numerous academic discussions with academic groups, including KCL. He presents frequently at conferences and exhibitions like QSIT's STeP-IN 2009 conference in India, the SQS international conferences, Oracle User Groups, the UKCMG 2008 conference and the Star East 2009 conference. He is also keen to provoke lively discussion amongst audiences about best practice and the limitations on current testing techniques. Huw has experience of training large groups and offering strategic advice to large corporations like Deutsche Bank and Capgemini.
Huw’s newest venture, Grid-Tools, has quickly redefined how large organizations need to approach their testing strategy. Grid-Tools has introduced a strong data-centric approach to testing, launching new concepts such as using data objects, data inheritance and implementing a central test data warehouse. Currently working with leading edge testing companies such as Fiorano, Facilita and Emprix, Grid-Tools are building on the strategy of improving automation tools and associated structured methodologies.
