Presales and support engineer (Nov 2011)

Grid-Tools is looking for presales and support engineer candidates to drive and support the sales of Grid-Tools' Datamaker flagship product throughout Europe. The purpose of the role is two-fold: (1) to provide presales technical support to the sales team, and (2) provide first line customer support. To excel in this role candidates need to be personable, conscientious and be able to build lasting relationships with Grid Tools’ customers. Flexibility and the willingness to travel domestically and internationally are important elements of the job.

Technical and demonstrable competence:
Expert: Oracle, SQL Server, .Net, Windows Experienced: Unix, Linux, ODBC, JDBC, SOA, XML, virtualization, productivity suites Knowledgeable: DB2, IMS, zOS, networking, programming languages (C, COBOL, Java).

The role is based in the company’s Oxford office, located a few miles west of the city, and ideally candidates should be within commutable distance.

Job Description

Are you a talented software engineer with recent PowerBuilder and database development experience - with several years of client/server development experience using Sybase Powerbuilder 9.0 or higher? Grid-Tools are always on the lookout for talented developers.

Optional EA Server experience

Preferred Database experience (Microsoft SQL Server, DB2/UDB, Sybase or Oracle)

The successful candidate must be capable of independently designing and implementing complex software changes
