The foundation certificate in Datamaker™ covers all of the essentials you will need to know in order to get started as a professional tester. The certificate will also help candidates understand the basic principles involved with this exciting and innovative software tool. The candidate will be required to complete a workbook and a Datamaker™ basics exam including concepts for data creation, data masking and database subsetting.

The advanced qualification is designed to introduce further concepts, methods and best practices. Successful completion of the course will lead to an advanced certificate, which will enable the user to become a Datamaker™ consultant, teaching others in their organization.

Professionals looking to enhance their knowledge of database software and database testing to an advanced level should attend the course. This is particularly suited to testers that have experience with the Oracle e-business suites and are capable of building test data for a number of the suites. This course is ideally suited to DBA’s, Testing Managers, Chief Information Architects or any experienced IT consultants who want to gain an understanding of the latest software methodology in testing.

Objectives of the Datamaker™ course

The objective of the course is to understand better the reasons behind why we test and the importance of creating good quality data as opposed to simply copying production data. It will also address the importance of ensuring legal compliance and the automated aspects of the software which enable you to achieve this. The course will also enable candidates to understand the working functionality of:

• Creating test data from scratch
• Subsetting existing data
• Anonymising sensitive data
• Creating a test data repository to manipulate and re-use data
• Enabling themselves and other users to access test data on demand

The full Datamaker™ course (basic and advanced) covers:

• One hour demonstration via webinar
• Two hour one-to-one training covering installation and support
• One week full trial of the software to use with your own test data
• The successful completion of two examinations with a pass rate of at least 80%
